Tony Hudgins

Santee, CA

Tony Hudgins was born in Philadelphia, PA, which is most likely where he acquired the nickname, Philly. He currently resides in San Diego, California.

“I grew up with dogs my entire life. I have always trained my dogs growing up with my father. As I got older, I figured out how to really teach any dog anything I wanted them to do to fit my lifestyle - via repetition every day.

Being the oldest of 10, I learned from my mother how to discipline, while appropriately managing their different personalities, and encourage it as an learning opportunity instead of simply shutting them down. After a bit, friends would ask me to help train their dogs for them, or with them, and I loved it but I didn't have consistent income from it, so it became a friendly hobby.

I always loved animals, however, I needed to make money to support my love of travel, therefore, I went into the healthcare industry; I obtained a Masters in Health Administration and Management. I burned out after a few years of working in the white-collar industry. While I really enjoyed it, I found myself struggling with the inconsistencies of management.”

His friend and current LDTT trainer then reached out for the third time with an opportunity of becoming a dog trainer and he agreed to give it a try. He hasn’t looked back since.

When asked about his goals, Tony said he’s really looking forward to buying a house, paying cash for his daughter’s college tuition, and to travel more with his family.

In his spare time, Tony loves riding his motorcycle, going to the park, playing soccer, and seeing the beauty the world has to offer.
